برشکاری با آب برای مواد ترد و نازک به کار می رود که مشکل این روش عدم کنترل فرایند است. در این روش آب با سرعت ۷۰۰ متر بر ثانیه باعث فرسایش مکانیکی قطعه کار می‌شود نازل را از یاقوت به علت فرسایش زیاد استفاده می‌کنند و از تشدید کننده برای افزایش فشار استفاده می‌شود عوامل موثر بر کیفیت برش فشار آب است
